[Recruitment] The "Kono Yubi Tomare" Mini Event Project is Launching! (For Organizer Members)

At JII, we are launching a new community initaitive called the Kono Yubi Tomare mini-event project, which brings together the experiences, knowledge, and skills of members of the Otonari-san Family Friend Program (OFP)!

Through mainly member led mini-events, we aim to create diverse opportunities for new encounters and learning , and to energize the OFP member community.

Two Event Styles

There are two event formats for "Kono Yubi Tomare."

  • Planning Style:A style where you plan and run an event yourself, drawing on your hobbies, expertise, or skills.
    • Examples: Making homemade sweets or local dishes together, creating a space to talk about parenting, enjoying books, movies, and music together, going out with members who like photography, and more
  • Accompaniment Style: A style where you personally participate in an existing activities or events that you trust, such as one hosted by another organization, company, government body, or local community, and invite and accompany other members to enjoy it together.
    • Example: Participating together in local festivals and events, introducing your own hobby circle, and so on

Those who want to share their interests, strengths, and ideas by creating something of their own are recommended the Planning Style, while those who want to enjoy activities they already participate in or recommend together with other members are recommended the Accompaniment Style..

Roles and Responsibilities

Members who plan and carry out events take the lead as "Event Organizer," proposing ideas, managing the event on the day, and sharing details of the implementation.

On the other hand, JII holds overall responsibility of the project and carries out the following tasks.

  • Confirmation and Notification of Event Details
  • Registration for Participation
  • Trouble Response
  • Partial Expense Coverage

In other words, organizing members can focus on what they want to do, while JII supports the administrative aspects.

Participation is limited to members registered with OFP (volunteers and foreign participants), and the event is generally held with a small number of people to allow for relaxed conversation. In addition to the actual event participation fee, insurance fees may be charged as necessary.

Rules for Becoming an Event Organizer

  • The content must be something the organizer personally likes, is good at, and wants to do.
  • Content related to sales activities, religion, dating, or solicitation is prohibited
  • In the case of the accompaniment type, it is limited to activities that the organizer themselves trust or have participated in.

Process Until the Event

We plan to verify the rules and management methods through several trial sessions first. Please note that the content may change in the future.

  1. Event Organizer proposes the idea to JII
  2. JII reviews the proposal and decides whether the event can be held
  3. JII announces the event to all members and recruits participants
  4. The event takes place
  5. Event-related expenses, such as venue costs, are settled, and the organizer shares the results of the event.

Why not host an event yourself?

"Kono Yubi Tomare" is an initiative where each member's "interests" and "strengths" naturally become events. Even without special preparation or experience, simply sharing your interests creates new opportunities for encounters and learning.
