[Closed] Ask the Experts! 12/16 Workshop on "Childbirth and Postpartum" for Foreign Pregnant Women (English)

If you feel anxious about giving birth in Japan without understanding the culture or language, why not participate in the workshop for foreign pregnant women (in English) held at St. Luke’s International University?

This event is a great opportunity for expectant foreign mothers to obtain various information about giving birth with peace of mind. We will clearly explain the birthing process, how to contact hospitals, changes in the body after childbirth, life with a baby, and partner support, and we will answer any questions you may have.

  • Location: Inside St. Luke’s International University (OMURA Susumu & Mieko Memorial St. Luke’s Center for Clinical Academia, 2nd Floor, Room 3210), 3-6-2 Tsukiji, Chuo-ku, Tokyo (Tsukiji Station)
  • Application Deadline: December 10 (Sunday) / Until capacity is reached
  • Time: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Participation Fee:
    • Individual Participation: 500 yen
    • Pair Discount: 800 yen (We recommend your partner's participation)
  • Participants: 15 pregnant women in their 24th week of pregnancy or later (partner participation is encouraged)
  • Instructor: Yukari Igarashi, PhD, RN, Professor of Women’s Health and Midwifery, Graduate School of Nursing, St. Luke’s International University, and a midwife. Her specialty is transcultural nursing. She is the representative of the Research Association for Multicultural Medical Services (RASC). She has created the booklet series "Support for Moms and Babies" in 18 languages. Her support activities include sex education and life planning support for foreign children, childbirth and childcare support for foreign women and their families, and addressing health issues of foreign women at various life stages. She also provides support activities for healthcare providers and supporters who care for foreigners.
