July 8 (Wed) 10:00 AM We will hold an online study session where foreign residents can easily learn the basics of the most important thing for living in Japan: the "residence status (visa)"!
This content is also useful for volunteers involved in supporting and interacting with foreign residents.
Many Japanese nationals may not be very aware of visas or residence statuses because there are many countries where a visa is not required when traveling abroad. However, for foreign residents living in Japan, various aspects of their lives, work, and future are deeply connected to their residence status.
"What types of residence statuses are there?" "I've heard the government is tightening visa regulations, but what kind of impact does that have?"
If you have such questions or want to learn the basics about residence status, please join us!
The lecturer is Ms. Yuko Iwasaki, an administrative scrivener who has been supporting foreign residents living in Japan for over 20 years, focusing on procedures related to residence status, naturalization and nationality, birth, and family matters. Drawing on her experience handling complex and diverse family cases, she will explain everything clearly, from the basics of the system to the challenges faced in the field.
Regardless of nationality, shall we think together about the necessary knowledge and support challenges to ensure families can live safely and securely in Japan?
