[Completed] East African Cafe’ Djibouti Now Otonari-san Themed Exchange Meeting

"Africa may have a strong image of poverty and war, but in reality, it is incredibly diverse and has many fascinating aspects. I want to showcase a more positive side of Africa!" This was passionately expressed by our guest, Mr. Abdeq, who hails from Djibouti in East Africa, nearly 10,000 kilometers away from Japan.

　When I first came to Japan, I found the "Otonari-san Family Friend Program" through an online search, and since then, I have enjoyed interacting with my paired Otonari-san.

　In fact, there are only a handful of people from Djibouti living in Japan. Every time I hear Mr. Abdeck's stories, I am exposed to various topics such as Djiboutian culture, traditions, the daily lives of its people, parenting, and the differences with Japan. It fills me with excitement and allows me to vividly imagine the real essence of Africa that I wouldn't normally encounter.

　We want to share the real experiences of Djibouti with as many people as possible, so this time we are inviting Abdeck to host a talk event exclusively for registered participants of the Otonari-san Family Friend Program. However, we also welcome guests who are directly introduced by registered participants as part of a special invitation.

　Mr. Abdeck graciously accepted the role of speaker. He is very much looking forward to interacting with others.

■Target Audience

①Registered volunteers and foreign participants in OFP

② Individuals who are directly referred by registered members (Please provide the name of the referrer at the time of application)

■Interpretation: All content will be provided with consecutive interpretation in Japanese and English.

■Capacity: Approximately 20 participants. Registration will close once we reach capacity, so please apply early.
